Abby Elliott has split from her husband of nearly 10 years, producer Bill Kennedy.
The 39-year-old actress, known for her role as Natalie on FX’s hit series “The Bear,” filed to dissolve her marriage on Friday, according to divorce filings obtained by TMZ.
She set the date of separation as July 8 and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation.
Elliott also sought joint legal and physical custody of two children the estranged couple adopted during their marriage: Edith, 5, and 3.
Ms. Elliott asked Ms. Kennedy to provide spousal support and asked the court not to receive any spousal support.
She also demanded that the producer pay her legal costs.
A representative for Elliott did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Elliott and Kennedy first met on the set of the 2014 film Sex Ed, for which he wrote the screenplay. She starred in the film alongside Glen Powell, Haley Joel Osment, and Lorenza Izzo.
Romance struck soon after they met, and he proposed in October 2015.
“I think we dated for a year and a half, which was a surprise,” she told The Knot in a past interview.
She said Kennedy asked, “It was so beautiful in our apartment. There were flowers everywhere.”
“It was really beautiful and he got down on one knee in the traditional style. It was very simple, but it was lovely and amazing.”
The following year, in September 2016, Elliott and Kennedy married during a church ceremony in New England.
Elliott and Kennedy welcomed their first child, Edith, in October 2020, and their second child, William, in June 2023.
Elliott, who was a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2012, has appeared in films such as 2011’s No Strings Attached, 2014’s Life Partners, and 2022’s Cheaper by the Dozen. She has also appeared in television shows such as “2 Broke Girls,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “King Of The Hill.”
Kennedy, on the other hand, is known as a producer and writer for television shows such as “House of Cards,” “Tell Me Rise,” and “The Morning Show.”
