Guests at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey’s upcoming wedding are furious after being told they are not allowed to bring plus-ones.
“My invitation didn’t allow me to bring a plus-one,” an anonymous guest claimed to the Daily Mail on Friday.
“I mean, what should I do? Go alone? It’s so awkward. I don’t want to go alone and I don’t know if there will be a lot of people there so I don’t think I’ll participate. I mean, I’m sorry, but I’m not friends with Gigi and Bella Hadid!”
Reported guests also complained that other guests appeared to be allowed to bring their plus-ones to the July 3 gala in New York City.
“I know Selena Gomez brings her husband Benny Blanco, so she has a plus one, but I’m not allowed to have a plus one because I’m a single woman,” the guest added.
“I understand that. We’re probably only going to have a limited amount of people in the venue, but it doesn’t feel the best.”
She said the invitation request was so off-putting for guests that she was considering quitting high-profile weddings.
“It’s the biggest wedding of the year, but I might miss it because I’m shy,” the guest said about the upcoming event. It will be held that morning at a venue known only to the guests.
“I get that, too. She doesn’t want everyone to know where she’s getting married until the last moment for safety reasons,” the source said.
“It’s a big guessing game right now and everyone is wondering where it will be. Probably a huge hotel like the Waldorf Astoria with great security and access,” they added.
According to the outlet, a friend of the pop star said she “loves” Swift and wants “the best” for her and “understands that,” but said she didn’t want to come across as a “big complainer.”
Swift’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Friday.
The “Cruel Summer” songstress and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 36, got engaged after two years of dating in a romantic backyard proposal last August.
“My English teacher and my gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” she captioned a photo of the intimate moment.
An impressive list of celebrity attendees has reportedly already been invited, including Chiefs coach Andy Reid, members of the bridal party Gomez and Gigi, Zoe Kravitz and Graham Norton.
Meanwhile, the Grammy-winning singer was spotted wearing a bridal white ensemble on a recent outing, seemingly teasing the big event.
