The bad gal is back!
Rihanna surprised fans by taking to the stage to perform at Jay-Z’s “Extra Innings” concert at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Early Monday morning, the “Diamonds” singer joined the rapper to sing the hook of his 2009 hit “Run This Town.”
After her performance, Rihanna told the packed crowd (which included her boyfriend A$AP Rocky and their 10-month-old daughter Rocky), “You all know I’m rusty, right? It’s been a while. Are you all together now?”
Next, the Fenty Beauty founder, 38, performed her 2015 song “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
Before leaving the stage, Rihanna told the audience, “Hey guys, I missed you! I love you, New York!”
The “Needed Me” songstress hasn’t performed a live show since March 2024, when she performed a 90-minute private concert at Indian billionaire heiress Ananth Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s lavish pre-wedding celebration.
Before that, Rihanna performed a medley of her hits during the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show while pregnant with her second son Riot.
Jay-Z’s third and final concert at Yankee Stadium was originally scheduled to begin Sunday night at 8 p.m.
However, the show was delayed for several hours after a crowd of fans broke through security and forced the iconic Bronx venue into lockdown.
The “99 Problems” host, real name Shawn Carter, didn’t take the stage until 12:15 a.m. Monday.
Jay-Z, 56, apologized for the chaotic scene when he took to the stage, telling the crowd: “There were about 10,000 people outside and they closed all the doors and someone rushed through the doors.”
He added: “They closed the door to keep you safe and everyone outside safe. I don’t want people to step on me when I start playing music.”
“We’re really sorry for the inconvenience, but we needed to make sure everyone was okay,” Jay-Z continued. “Thank you for your patience.”
Several hip-hop moguls were on stage Monday, including Pharrell, Teyana Taylor, Usher, Jermaine Dupri and, of course, Jay’s megastar wife Beyoncé, who also took the stage on the first night of Jay’s Yankee Stadium residency.
