Charm runs in the family.
Princess Charlotte appeared at the 2026 Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday wearing a jewel-style charm bracelet once prized by her late grandmother, Princess Diana.
The 11-year-old version is a $32 gold-plated shell charm bracelet from Accessorize, sold at Marks & Spencer and currently sold out.
She attended the match from the royal box with her parents, Prince William and Duchess Kate, and older brother Prince George.
Princess Diana’s charm bracelet was a wedding gift from Prince Charles when she married in 1981. In our 10th year of marriage, new charms were added each year, each with its own meaning.
Among them are ballet shoes that represent her childhood dreams of ballet, a polo cap for Charles’ dedication to the sport, an apple that represents his love for New York, and even a small pig.
The bracelet also featured two gold initials, “W” and “H,” which were added when her sons, William and Harry, were born.
Princess Diana mostly hid her bracelets in public. One of the few times she was photographed was in November 1984 aboard the P&O liner Royal Princess, which she had just named at a naming ceremony.
It is believed that she put it aside for good after her marriage to Charles ended.
Charlotte seems to love charm bracelets just like her grandmother. At last year’s Wimbledon, she wore a silver Pandora bracelet with a series of personally selected charms. An eternity circle charm with a green stone (after May’s birthstone, emerald), an engraved disc, and a rose gold oak from The Lion King.
The final choice reflects a family favorite, with Prince William stating in 2017 that young Prince George was a fan of the film.
Another clue linking Charlotte’s afternoon at Center Court to her grandmother? Princess Diana’s bracelet included a small tennis racket, the perfect talisman for Wimbledon.
