You might not think MS NOW has a deep fan base in the heart of Texas, but the cable news network has access there anyway.
The Versant Media-backed news organization will offer a full day of discussions and panels featuring many notable personalities at an event called “MS NOW Live: Together in Texas” on September 26 in the city of Arlington, near both Dallas and Fort Worth.
“With the critical midterm elections just months away, we’re bringing together our trusted anchors and reporters to engage directly with our viewers in a day full of lively discussions, meaningful connections, and unforgettable moments that highlight the power of democracy and community at such a critical time in our nation’s history,” Lauren Peikoff, executive producer of MS NOW Live, said in a prepared statement.
The conversation could focus on some of the issues that have been preoccupying Texans in recent months, including voting rights, immigration, education and the economy. Texas is also the scene of an unexpectedly close U.S. Senate race between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico.
MS NOW anchors and reporters participating include Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Jen Psaki, Stephanie Rhule, Ari Velshi, Ari Melber, Chris Hayes, Simone Sanders Townsend, Alicia Menendez, Jacob Soboroff, Eugene Daniels, Michael Steele, Luke Russert and Rev. Al Sharpton.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to “We The People Community Dinner,” a limited-seating event featuring a conversation between Maddow and Psaki answering audience questions, a live recording of the “Clock It with Symone & Eugene” podcast, and an interactive audience segment with Soboroff.
Each ticket purchased includes the benefit of a one-year subscription to the MS NOW membership product, which will be available later this summer.
MS NOW has previously hosted live events in New York, Minnesota, Maryland, Hawaii and Sweden, part of the content company’s focus on generating new revenue by orchestrating closer interactions between fans and the shows they love.
