Prince George fights off a sneeze during the national anthem at Trooping the Color 2026.
In a video posted to X by the Telegraph, the royal family appeared to be holding back a sneeze as they watched a Royal Air Force flight from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
After the song ended, Prince George sneezed with his hand over his nose and mouth, then took a moment to laugh about an incident with his mother, Duchess Kate.
The Princess of Wales waved to the crowd with Prince George, Prince William, 43, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, and then placed a gentle hand on her eldest son’s back as they exited the balcony.
Earlier in the day, Mr Middleton, 44, sneezed himself at Horse Guards Parade.
Despite Prince George’s small moment, it was his younger brother Prince Louis who once again stole the spotlight at this year’s celebrations.
The youngest royal flashed a series of animated expressions while standing next to her family, including King Charles, 77, and Queen Camilla, 78.
One photo showed an eight-year-old boy with a shocked look on his face as he stared out into the sea of spectators.
Another photo showed Louis accompanying his mother to this year’s horse-drawn carriage procession.
Prince Louis is known for his silly antics, and last year he continued waving at the crowd long after his family had put their hands down, prompting Prince George to tell them to “stop” — as seen in X.
In 2024, Louis showed off his dance moves, gyrating his hips to the band’s music.
At that time, it was my sister who was seen telling me to stop.
“He’s a sassy monkey and a typical third child,” a source told People magazine in 2022. “I’m glad the world can see him having fun.”
Trooping the Color is held every June to celebrate the official birthday of the British monarch.
More than 1,400 soldiers, horses and musicians gather on London’s Horse Guards Parade to celebrate their leaders.
This year, Middleton paid tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, by wearing a powder blue Catherine Walker coat dress.
The look was very similar to the Catherine Walker costume worn by Princess Diana (who died in 1997 at the age of 36) during her son Prince William’s first Easter service in 1987.
