John Mayer and Kat Stickler quietly broke up “a few months ago” after months of dating, a new report claims.
A source said Stickler, 31, and Mayer, 48, “are no longer seeing each other and broke up several months ago,” adding that their relationship “just fizzled out.”
“It wasn’t a dramatic breakup,” a source told Us Weekly in a report published Tuesday. “They found out their lifestyles were completely different, but they had so much fun while it lasted that they’re still friends.”
The source also noted that while the former couple “never had a serious relationship,” her mother, Stickler, was reluctant to bring the man she was dating near her daughter.
“Kat was always hesitant to take her daughter with the man she was dating. Their busy schedules made it difficult to make the move,” the source said.
Representatives for Meyer and Stickler did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The move is quite a turnaround from the most recent update on the star six months ago. In December, it was reported that things were “getting serious” between Meyer and Stickler.
“John is ready to settle down in life and wants to date seriously,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
A source told the publication that the two “spent Thanksgiving weekend together” and that Stickler “was introduced to some of John’s friends.”
Stickler and Mayer first became romantically linked in October when they were spotted together on several cozy outings in New York City.
According to DeuxMoi, the pair were first seen at a private members-only club, where witnesses described what appeared to be a “first date, maybe a second date.”
The next night, the musician and influencer continued his dinner date at another members-only establishment, the Fly Fish Club.
A source told Us Weekly at the time that the “Gravity” singer was “actively pursuing her” and Stickler was interested because “he thought it would be fun to date again.”
Stickler revealed to her followers that she was single shortly after a series of outings, but romance speculation reignited last November when she went on another dinner date at New York hotspot Torisi.
