Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey are reportedly getting married on July 3rd at Madison Square Garden. Ahead of the event, photos and videos of the venue’s deliveries, including castle-like staircases and greenery, have been released. Sources also talked about the couple’s wedding decorations.
Madison Square Garden, the reported wedding venue for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, is getting a makeover this week. Photos of the delivery to the arena have been released ahead of the event, and multiple media outlets including ABC News and the New York Times have reported that it will take place on July 2nd and 3rd.
On Tuesday, multiple sources told TMZ that the singer was building a fairytale-like castle inside for his wedding. Later, a photo was released showing white parts resembling a castle being loaded inside.
Here’s what we know about Madison Square Garden event decorations.
Starting Monday, boxes with labels like “Garden Party” were unloaded, carrying castle-like parts and plants.
It looks like Swift is planning on turning the arena into a castle and garden for her wedding. CBS News shared a video showing some boxes being unloaded Monday and labels such as “Garden Party.”
Page Six obtained a video of the White Castle-like rail being unloaded and shared it on Wednesday.
Photos of greenery being brought into the garden have also surfaced, spurring speculation about a garden party.
TMZ also posted a photo of a white staircase under construction and theorized that this part was for a castle under construction.
On July 1, Variety published a video showing what appeared to be a piano being wheeled in.
Deliveries to the arena continued Wednesday, with Variety posting a video showing an object resembling a baby grand piano being wheeled in. This follows a report from NBC News that Swift plans to perform multiple performances at the wedding.
Madison Square Garden employees wore Taylor Swift Carpenters tops.
It was vintage gear used on her Speak Now tour, but when asked if the outfit had anything to do with her current job, the employee responded, via the New York Times, “Fifth person please.”
A 40-inch mirror ball was also brought in.
Swift’s wedding decor seems to pay homage to her music. A photo has been released of a forklift truck carrying a box labeled “40-inch mirror ball” into Madison Square Garden. Of course, Swift has a song called “Mirror Ball.”
She recently spoke to the New York Times about how the song reflects her experiences as an artist. “As someone who’s in the public eye, I really started to realize that you’re a mirror,” she said. “You’re a mirror to your fans, to the media, to people on the internet, or just random people. People who don’t even really care about your music, but they know who you are. How they feel about themselves, and their lives are projected by how they perceive you.” Being a public person making art is a mirror ball, and that’s part of the reason I’ve been able to stay disciplined about myself through all of this. Knowing that, I’m really aware of that dynamic to a certain extent, but I’m still endlessly fascinated by people, the human experience, why people are the way they are, and how they feel.
A red carpet was brought down, but quickly removed.
While Swift may be rolling out a literal red carpet at her wedding, the move makes sense given the day’s reported black-tie dress code, the extensive guest list (rumored to include more than 1,000 guests), and the fact that the event is being handled by Winnick Productions, which has overseen actual award shows like the Grammys, Tonys, and Emmys.
Initially, a video surfaced of the red carpet being rolled out at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. It was then torn up and replaced with purple carpet, TMZ reported. The color is reminiscent of Swift’s Speak Now days and 2022 song “Lavender Haze.”
