‘Gen V’ will not be returning for season 3 on Amazon

“Gen V,” one of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys” spinoff series, will not be returning for season 3, Variety has learned.

“While we hope we can keep the party going for another season on Godolkin, we are committed to continuing the stories of our Generation V characters in Season 5 of The Boys and other upcoming VCU projects, and we will see them again,” series executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg said in a statement.

“Generation V” originally premiered in 2023, with season 2 airing from September to October 2025. “Generation V” characters are expected to appear in upcoming episodes of “The Boys” season 5 and final season, according to a person familiar with the situation.

“Generation V” Season 2 premiered with its first three episodes in September, reaching 424 million minutes of viewing time, enough to reach No. 8 on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 Originals chart. This was the largest weekly total in the show’s history, with two-thirds of that total coming from adults 18-49. However, the show failed to crack the top 10 again except for one additional week during season two.

“Generation V” takes place at Godolkin University’s School of Crime Control, where young Supermans train for a chance to one day join The Seven. The cast of the series included Jaz Sinclair, Lise Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Lu, Asa German, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Hamish Linklater.

“Gen V” was developed by Craig Rosenberg, Goldberg, and Kripke. All three served as executive producers along with showrunner Michelle Fazikas, Seth Rogen, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Oli Marmur, Thomas Schnauz, Steve Boyum, and Brant Engelstein. Loreli Alaniz, Gabriel Garcia, and Jessica Chou served as co-executive producers. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Gray Pictures and Original Film.

Since “The Boys” is set to end this season and “Generation V” will not be returning, the only show in the “Boys” universe currently scheduled is “Vought Rising,” a prequel that follows Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) in the 1950s. The show is scheduled to premiere in 2027. “The Boys” Season 5 will feature an early preview of “Vought Rising.”

Additionally, a spin-off, The Boys: Mexico, is also in development.
