Taylor Swift’s ex-girlfriend of six-and-a-half years was spotted out and about in New York with Love Story star Sarah Pidgeon.
Dumois said Pigeon, who played style icon Carolyn Bessette Kennedy on the recent hit FX series, was “spotted last night (Wednesday) in Fort Greene (Brooklyn) with the Hamnet actor.”
However, a post on the gossip blog read: “When Sarah was spotted with Jake Gyllenhaal, we later found out they were about to film a project together 👀.”
Representatives for Alwyn and Pigeon did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment Friday evening.
Fans couldn’t help but take to the comments section to vent their displeasure, with one person quipping, “They’re trying to get an album from Taylor.”
Another wrote that Alwyn and Pidgeon “would be great together 😍,” while a third chimed in: “Crazy about Taylor. But this is going to work out. Good for them.”
The report comes as anticipation builds for the “Opalit” hitmaker’s wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden over the weekend of July 3, sources recently told Page Six.
Alwyn, 35, and Swift, 36, dated from the fall of 2016 until they split in the spring of 2023, during the start of the pop star’s epic Elas tour. A source told Page Six at the time that the breakup was “not dramatic” and that the romance “just progressed naturally.”
After the breakup, Swifties speculated that some of her Tortured Poets’ Department hits, including “Roamle,” “So Long London” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” contained references to the extinct romance.
Meanwhile, Alwyn spoke about the breakup in an interview with the London Times in June 2024.
“I hope everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving and committed relationship of over six and a half years. It’s a difficult thing to overcome,” he explained to the outlet.
The actor shared that the breakup was “unusual and unusual” because it “suddenly became public and the outside world was able to influence it.”
“So something very real is suddenly thrown into a very unrealistic space of tabloids, social media, news outlets, where it gets dissected, second-guessed and disfigured beyond recognition,” he said.
“And the truth is, down to that last point, there will always be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made my peace with that.”
Pigeon, 29, has not confirmed that she is in a relationship and is very protective of her private life, but she has been rumored to be dating Spacey Jane frontman Caleb Harper since she co-starred with him in the band’s “It’s Been a Long Day” music video in 2022.
Kelly’s on-screen and red carpet chemistry with her Love Story co-star Paul Anthony Kelly also sparked dating speculation among fans, but Kelly married his wife Sid Widziszewski in 2023.
Earlier this year, there were rumors that she was dating Jake Gyllenhaal (45) when they were spotted having coffee in New York, but it has now been revealed that the two are co-starring in the upcoming drama film Honeymoon with Harry.
