“Beef” Season 2 debuted at No. 10 on the Netflix Top 10 this week, with Season 2 of the show racking up 2.4 million views. The second season debuts on April 16th, and this week’s Top 10 covers April 13th-19th.
By comparison, “Beef” Season 1 logged 34.1 million hours of viewing in the first week of 2023. Netflix did not release viewing numbers at the time, but dividing the total viewing time by the total running time of season 1 (approximately 5 hours and 52 minutes) resulted in 5.8 million views.
That’s about a 58% decrease between the two season starts. Season 1 peaked in its second week with 70.38 million hours watched. This equates to 12 million views.
In the top 10 of the English TV charts, Dan Levy’s new crime comedy The Big Mistake moved to third place in its second week with 4.4 million views. This is up from the 2.7 million views it recorded during its debut last week. “Trust Me: False Prophet” remained at No. 1 for the second week in a row, with the documentary series racking up 6.9 million views.
Other titles in the top 10 this week include “Salish & Jordan Matter,” which ranked second with 5 million views, “XO, Kitty” Season 3, which placed fourth with 3 million views, and “Danny Go!” Season 1 was watched 2.5 million times.
In the top 10 English movies, the shark disaster thriller “Slash” remained at number one for the second week in a row with 34.5 million views. This is only a slight decrease from the 37.7 million views it received when it debuted on the chart last week.
The South African film “180” debuted at number two on the English language film charts with 9.5 million views. The comedy movie “Roommates” ranked third with 8.8 million views in its debut.
On non-English TV, French Caribbean thriller Bandi ranked in the top 10 with 5.2 million views. This was followed by the three-part documentary series Ronaldinho: The One and Only, which was viewed 4.7 million times. Among non-English films, this week’s winner was the Indian film “Toaster” with 4.4 million views.
