Benedict Cumberbatch was in the middle of a heated argument with a fellow cyclist after he allegedly ran a red light.
The “Doctor Strange” star was seen on video abandoning his bike and walking up to an angry cyclist while in London last week.
“You’re being lied to, you’re being lied to,” an unidentified male biker told the actor. “I was behind you the whole time.”
In response, Cumberbatch accused the man of “verbal” abuse.
“Yeah, I verbally abused a guy who repeatedly broke the law,” the man replied sarcastically, to which Cumberbatch admitted, “I did it once, too.”
The man then accused the “Sherlock” star of running two other red lights, which the man denied.
The fight lasted about 10 minutes before the man left, giving Cumberbatch time to pose with young fans.
A bystander who was recording the altercation said: “It was crazy. It was such an arrogant street riot that I thought it was almost staged.”
“Even though Benedict was unwell, he managed to charm everyone who watched,” the eyewitness added. “They talked to each other about five times.”
The man said Cumberbatch and the other cyclist “blocked the lane and prevented others from passing.”
Witnesses said an agitated cyclist chased the “Imitation Game” star until he stopped his car.
“The masked man was clearly a vigilante. When I found out it was Benedict Cumberbatch, I was really surprised and even more angry,” the man said.
A witness said: “I don’t condone dangerous driving, but for this man to follow me and cause an incident like this was worse than Benedict slowly turning off the traffic light.”
The man added that as school children passed by “in awe,” Cumberbatch politely told them to wait for a photo.
A representative for the “Star Trek Into Darkness” actor could not be reached for comment.
