Taylor Frankie Paul chose Mother’s Day to share her “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” co-star Mikayla Matthews on Instagram.
In a post on Sunday, Paul shared a photo of himself with his three children and wrote in a long caption that he would say whatever he wanted because it was Mother’s Day. Although Paul did not name him, he referenced Matthews’ Instagram Story on Saturday, in which he said Matthews has set “healthy boundaries” in his relationships and is “trying to distance himself as much as possible” from Paul’s legal issues with ex Dakota Mortensen.
In an emotional post, Paul wrote, “There are still times when a ‘friend’ kicks me when I’m already depressed, or kicks me under the guise of ‘setting boundaries,’ or criticizes me for reacting in an upset way. It’s about shaming and attacking me while I have a breather, and she knew it.”
“For my snake friend to do all the things he witnessed to me in public…the lack of empathy and silence was great enough,” she continued.
She then specifically blamed Matthews, writing on Saturday that she had no intention of taking sides with Paul or Mortensen.
Paul replied, “Did you see the hearing? Did you see the bruises? And she’s bringing up ‘picking sides’? Yes, that’s what I usually do with friends who are going through similar experiences.”
Ms Paul claimed Mr Matthews never listened to her and ignored her.
“Your trauma doesn’t give me permission to kick me when I’m down and then cover it up with ‘boundaries’ months after the fact…she’s certainly right to say her ‘boundaries’…but please tell me the truth,” she wrote.
Paul admitted she was “caught in a vicious circle” in the situation and called Matthews her enemy.
“People are calling out to me and I can’t respond? Exactly what I will never tolerate again,” she wrote. “Thank you to those who sent to help me when the enemy was so close.”
Paul defiantly wrote on his Instagram Story on Sunday, “I will not sit down, be silent, or log out…I have been doing this for years on this matter. Trust me, I am okay with losing, whether it be emotionally, physically, or in the public eye.”
Matthews said on his Instagram Story on Saturday that he felt terrible for everyone involved in Paul’s scandal, which led to filming for Season 5 of TSLOMW being temporarily halted. In March, Paul temporarily lost custody of her 2-year-old son Ever, whom she shares with Mortensen, due to allegations of abuse between her exes.
However, Matthew said, “But it’s not my job to enable inappropriate or dangerous behavior on the part of either party, especially when children are involved. It’s not my job to enable inappropriate or dangerous behavior on the part of either party, especially when children are involved. That doesn’t mean I don’t love them or don’t want what’s best for their individual futures.” It doesn’t mean I can’t sit here and pretend I’m okay with years of destructive behavior now being discussed more than ever online and turned into a “pick a side” game. ”
She also said she was there for Paul when he hit “rock bottom,” even though he was dealing with his own trauma and health issues.
“Each time, the behavior and pattern continued, publicly praised as ‘messy’ and ’empathetic,'” she wrote, adding, “You cannot save someone who is not willing to participate in your own rescue.”
In his comments, Paul accused Matthews of waiting for her to collapse and claimed she almost never screamed for help.
She also said disparagingly of Matthews, “If she doesn’t want to film with me, she can find her way to the door. Next.”
