Brooke Hogan has a message for her haters.
Over the weekend, the “About Us” singer fired back at her Instagram followers who deemed her May 20 Instagram tribute to her late father Hulk Hogan a “thirst trap.”
“Believe me, if I wanted to give you a thirst trap, you would have had it,” she replied in a follow-up post on May 22.
Brooke pointed out that her previous post, which prominently featured a photo of her derriere in a bikini on the beach, was just a vulnerable moment for her to grieve her father, writing: “Shame on those who demonized her.”
Elsewhere in her caption, the conversation seemed to shift to public perception surrounding her relationship with her father.
“I’m a human being. My father was human too. And do you guys have the nerve to act like you’re an expert on any subject or know anything about my experience with him?” she wrote about the wrestling legend.
“Go back under the bridge, you trolls,” she concluded her post.
In a slideshow of her post, Brooke explained that the bikini photo was taken “right off the bat” and slung over her shoulders, emphasizing that it symbolized her childhood growing up as a “little girl in Florida.”
“I know he loved me and I loved him too. I think I loved him more than anyone will ever love me,” she wrote of Hulk. “But in the last few years…I think he’s lost sight of this.”
“I don’t owe it to ignorant people who have never walked in my shoes to explain how I lost my father before I lost him,” Brooke wrote.
The “Hogan Knows Best” alum said she supports her decision to distance herself from her father, but “can’t stop” him from being gone.
Brooke’s first post featured her “thoughts, spending time with her dad and his love of the ocean,” and even compared her to “King Triton holding a mermaid.”
“I couldn’t stop crying today,” she said.
The obituary featured a slideshow of images and videos of Hulk over the years, but many followers focused on the bikini shot that took center stage in the slideshow.
“The first photo was a must to remember your father, right? Jesus Christ,” one person wrote. Another asked, “Why are you starting this post with a picture of your butt?”
Hulk died in July at the age of 71. The cause of death was determined to be a heart attack, and it was revealed that he had been secretly battling leukemia.
The WWE icon’s relationship with Brooke has become estranged in recent years, with her missing his funeral and Brooke leaving her a $5 million will.
