The premiere date for Season 2 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood has been announced on Starz.
The second season of the romantic epic prequel series will begin on September 18th. Starz also released the first teaser for the new season. You can see it below.
Season 1 of the show introduced fans to Claire and Jamie’s parents and their love story across different eras.
The official description for season 2 states:
“After Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Beecham (Hermione Corfield) get lost and separated on an unexpected journey back in time in the vast Scottish Highlands of the 18th century, season one sees them finally reunited on the standing stones of Craig-na-Dun and discover their time and their young daughter Cree. The first glimpse of season 2 begins from that moment, as Julia is left alone with her baby, separated from love and hope, and Henry must battle with his own mental health as he fights to find his way back to her. ”
“Meanwhile, the forbidden relationship between Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen Mackenzie (Harriet Slater) seems to have overcome all odds, but their romantic escapades are cut short when the Flaming Cross is lit and the Jacobite Rising of 1715 begins, plunging the clans into war,” the description continues. “In Season 1, they chose each other over their families, but now they have to prioritize their clan loyalties as Brian fulfills his duty to fight and Ellen tries to make things right with her family.”
In addition to Irvine, Caulfield, Roy and Slater, Outlander: My Blood also stars Tony Curran as Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, Seamus MacLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons-Fraser, and Conor MacNeil as Ned Gowan.
Matthew B. Roberts is the showrunner on both Outlander and Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Roberts will serve as executive producer along with Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schellhaas, Michael Wilson, Jim Kohlberg and Luke Parker Bowles. “Outlander” is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
