Ariana Biermann’s love life is about to take another surprising turn.
Bravo’s new midseason trailer for Next Generation NYC Season 2 hints that something may have happened between Biermann and controversial co-star Charlie Zakour, but a source exclusively tells Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea that the two actually got together while cameras were rolling.
“Ariana and Charlie are together,” a source said, emphasizing that there’s more to this story than the trailer suggests. “That is what actually happened and the situation will unfold later in the season.”
Bravo did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In the midseason trailer, Charlie tells castmate Shy Fruchter during a phone call, “Ariana’s here to have sex,” adding, “You should clutch your pearls, bro.”
In another sneak peek, Biermann’s friend Riley Burruss calls Biermann and Zakur a “new dynamic duo.” Meanwhile, Emira DeSpain revealed to the group during a cast trip that Biermann “gave up his first class seat to sit next to Charlie” during the trip.

However, our sources confirmed that was not the case when the cameras rolled. Biermann and Zakour’s relationship comes after the 24-year-old split from her long-term on-and-off boyfriend Hudson McLeroy and embraced single life.
At the time, their relationship was behind her and the reality star was open to meeting new people — something viewers had already seen unfold through her fling with series newcomer Liam Obergfall.
Now, fans will see another chapter of the Biermann dating journey unfold, but this time it involves one of the show’s most polarizing characters. Outside of the show, in addition to facing conflicts with nearly every “Next Generation New York City” star, Zakour has been linked to the crypto torture chamber scandal.
In May 2025, just before the season 1 premiere of “Next Gen NYC,” police arrested 37-year-old cryptocurrency investor John Welts outside his Soho apartment and charged him with assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, according to ABC7NY.
Sources later told Page Six that Zakour, 31, who has not been charged with any crime, was sometimes “crashing” at the apartment in question.
Making the situation even more troubling is the fact that Zakour had recently developed a close friendship with 24-year-old McCleroy, who had a close relationship with Biermann.
During season 2, the two developed a solid bromance, with McCleroy letting several men in her life know that she didn’t want anyone to pursue Biermann romantically in the early stages of their breakup.
Obergfoll ultimately ignored the request, and it now appears that Zakkour did as well.
It remains unclear how McCleroy reacted after learning of Bierman and Zakur’s relationship, or whether the situation affected their friendship. The current relationship status of Biermann and McCleroy, who attended the Next Gen NYC party together on June 14, is also unclear.
Biermann himself gave a vague answer when asked about his position with McCleroy during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” this week.
“I don’t know the best wording to express it. I mean…we’re in this together, but we’re still figuring it out,” she said. “I don’t want to go back and forth again. I just want to be able to grow independently.”
But she told host Andy Cohen that McCleroy and Zakour are “definitely” no longer friends. Both Cohen and Biermann agreed that the events leading up to the breakdown of their friendship should be revealed at the “Next Generation New York City” Season 2 reunion.
The twist in Biermann’s love life is especially noteworthy considering the history between Zakur and McCleroy.
During season 1, Zakour caused controversy by boldly declaring that he wanted to have sex with Beerman, which immediately caused tension between him and McCleroy. At the time, this comment did not sit well with Biermann’s then-boyfriend, and the moment became one of the most memorable points of confrontation in the series’ debut.
The mid-season trailer for Season 2 only teases the nature of Bierman and Zakur’s relationship, but sources stressed to Virtual Reali-Tea that viewers will find out the full story as the second half of the season progresses.
It remains to be seen whether this relationship will develop into something more serious, or whether it will cause lasting discord within the close-knit group of friends.
Biermann has already been through the ups and downs of leaving a multi-year relationship while also navigating his ordeal with Obergfoll. Adding Zakur to the mix is likely to come as a shock to the cast, especially given his friendship with McCleroy and the complicated history they all share.
If the trailers are any indication, emotions will run high as the truth is revealed and one of the most talked about storylines of the season begins.
