Lady Gaga performed a quick-stop at the 2025 MTV VMAS. The singer has been nominated 12 times tonight. The star also hosts tonight’s mayhemball tour show, so he pre-recorded the VMAS performance.
Lady Gaga will be in New York City tonight. MTVVMA will be holding her Mayhemball tour show just outside Manhattan in Elmont, New York.
Still, Gaga managed to swing both events. She told fans on her Instagram Story that she held a Madison Square Garden concert at 9:30pm and was filmed sitting next to Ariana Grande when the MTV VMA began in Elmont, New York.
Gaga also pre-recorded the performance of the VMA, which airs tonight.
The star was most nominated tonight for Artist of the Year and Best Album (Mayhem). Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die with a Smile” will also be Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Pop Song.
She last joined the VMA in 2020.
Gaga spoke about the mayhem earlier this year. “In fact, I was pretty hard at not having the preconceived notions I was trying to strangle because I wasn’t walking into the studio,” she began. “Mayhem is to follow every clunky in your life that will take you with you, and that was to follow the songs. Writing as many songs as I did for this album was a total labor of love.
She learned a lot about herself along the way. “The confusion I thought had been gone for so long is completely unharmed and ready to say hello whenever I want. Part of the message for the first song on the album is that your demon will be with you at first.
