Tamsin Egerton (Rosie, St Trinian’s) and Trevor Eve (A Discovery of Witches) are set to star in the half-hour comedy-drama series The Golden Valley.
Created by Jack Yves, the show centers on the eccentric and tony Starling family, who are in danger of losing their family farm, in the vein of rags-to-riches comedies like “Amandaland” and “Schitt’s Creek.”
In addition to Egerton as Shelley and Trevor Eve as Anton, Greta Bellamasina, fresh from Florian Zeller’s Venice-bound The Bunker, also stars as Marcia, as well as Lily Robinson (Minamata) as Bella, Sharon Morgan (She’s Outcast) as Skyla, Hart Eve as Hal, and Robert Montgomery as Constantine. Jack Yves, who wrote and directed the series, will also appear as Alexei.
The logline reads, “As the Sterlings are losing their family farm, the only thing they know is to put on a show,” and Jack Yves describes the film as a “mockumentary about a family navigating bankruptcy.”
“It was so much fun working with this group of actors and creatives on this pilot, shot in the beautiful Welsh borders, and I’m really looking forward to developing the series further,” Eve told Variety.
The first season of the series will have six to eight episodes, and is currently in development and produced by Eve’s Ecce Pictures. Variety understands that the pilot was shot and is now being purchased.
The series is headed by Independent Talent Co-Chairman Duncan Heath.
