Jenny Molen jokingly called her 12-year-old son Sid a “predator” while addressing the “bizarre” backlash over an intimate bed photo of the two of them.
“If you know my son, he’s really a predator, not me,” the 47-year-old actress told host Amanda Hirsch on Tuesday’s episode of the “Not Thin But Not Fat” podcast.
“He’s the one who’s fucking me all over my body,” Moren continued. “I’ve been trying to keep him out of the bathroom for the past 12 years. He just wants my attention.”
Last month, Ms Moren, who has eight-year-old sons Sid and Laszlo with her estranged husband Jason Biggs, sparked outrage when she posted two photos on Instagram of herself lying on top of her older child in bed.
Her controversial caption read, “Your eldest son is going to be the most toxic boyfriend you’ve ever had.”
On the podcast, Moren doubled down on her post and revealed that Sid knew about the drama surrounding it.
“He’s like a little spider monkey to me and I’m in trouble,” she said. “And now he’s like, ‘Get away from me, you pervert,’ just to have sex with me.”
The “Angel” actress also explained that she believes the timing of her breakup with Biggs contributed to the backlash.
“If I had told this joke a month or two ago, it would have been received differently,” she said, noting that things might have played out differently had she been “in public with a man” when she shared the photo on May 25.
“And I think there’s something about a woman who’s not attached to a man that somehow comes across as a threat, a danger,” she added.
At the beginning of the interview, Mollen detailed why she called her eldest son “toxic” in a caption.
“It’s like, this is the joke I’ve been telling for so long,” she said. “For example, I’m in a dysfunctional relationship with a man who’s like, ‘Can you hold my head while I throw up in the toilet?'” “Can you give me a full body massage before bed?” “Could you please put more ice in my water bottle?” Well, here’s the cure. ”
“He’s a dictator,” she continued, jokingly. “And I live in this dictatorship where you have to like…it’s like thumbs up or thumbs down. If I offer you sunscreen, bow your head.”
Moren previously defended the intimate bed photo and caption in a June 8 Substack essay, explaining that the photo was taken after Sid returned home from a weekend outing.
“When I look at that photo, I see a 12-year-old boy still looking for his mother, and a woman trying to maintain intimacy and connection as everything in her life changes,” she said.
Page Six confirmed that Moren and Biggs, 48, separated in May after 18 years of marriage.
Moren clarified on the podcast that their relationship is “still romantic” and that they continue to be “amazing” co-parents to their two sons.
