On Saturday, the royal family gathered for Trooping the Color, a public celebration of King Charles’ birthday and a major national event. The Princess of Wales arrived in a horse carriage for her big day with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The couple met with Prince William and his relatives at the palace.
Kate wore a baby blue blazer dress by one of her favorite designers, Catherine Walker, which she paired with white pumps and a matching Philip Treacy hat. She also wore special jewelry, including an Irish Guards brooch, Cassandra Gordo earrings, and a three-strand pearl bracelet that originally belonged to the late Princess Diana.
And in a super sweet mother-daughter moment, Princess Charlotte wore her own version designed by Nigel Milne and waved to the crowd while showing off the three-strand pearl bracelet on her wrist. The young princess wore an all-white outfit with some blue details to tie in with Duchess Kate’s outfit, a white bow tie in her hair, and white ballet shoes.
The two boys were wearing navy blue suits with matching pale blue ties. Children joined Prince William and Duchess Kate on the balcony to watch the celebrations, which included the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows aerobatic team flying overhead.
There will also be a parade featuring over 1,000 soldiers from the Home Office Division and Royal Horse Artillery, as well as hundreds of musicians, who will perform as they pass in front of Buckingham Palace in London. Although King Charles’ actual birthday is in November, the event is traditionally celebrated in June, when the weather is nicer.
