“Battlestar Galactica” star Tricia Helfer joined OnlyFans to “remove the stigma.”
“At this age, I’m at the ‘do what I want’ stage in my life,” the 52-year-old explained to People about launching his account last month in an interview published Friday.
“I’m tired of being told what to do and how to do it,” the actress continued. “I see it as something I enjoy and something I can control.”
Ms Helfer said her page on the subscription-based social media platform would highlight the “sexy side” of her brand, along with a glimpse into her “quiet and silly” life at home.
“I like to be a little shocked,” she told the outlet. “Will this image surprise my parents? Probably.
“My passion is my work as an actor,” Helfer continued, “and I use this platform as an extension of my creative, fun, and frivolous side.”
The “Lucifer” star also admitted that he has been “pleasantly surprised” by the “supportive” response from fans since soft launching his account in April.
However, Ms Helfer acknowledged that others were “concerned” about her page because she was “pushing the boundaries”.
“I’m not saying we don’t have to worry,” she said. “But I tell them, ‘Hey, this is what I’m doing. I’m in control of it. You don’t have to post anything you don’t want to post.’
Helfer, who split from her husband Jonathan Marshall in 2017 after 14 years of marriage, said she was “not forced into anything” and could close her account “at any time I choose.”
Like “American Pie” star Shannon Elizabeth, Helfer admitted that she donates a portion of her OnlyFans profits to animal charities that are important to her.
“We’ve been doing that for at least the last 20 years,” she said. “So if we can have some success with OnlyFans, it will actually allow us to give more money than ever before and continue to engage in more ways than ever before.”
Helfer began her career as a fashion model in the late 1990s and early 2000s, appearing in ads for Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Versace, and more.
After turning to acting, Helfer starred as Number Six in Battlestar Galactica and God’s Wife in Lucifer. She also had a recurring role on “Two and a Half Men.”
The same goes for other celebrities who joined OnlyFans for the first time, and her acting career has slowed down in recent years.
Elizabeth, 52, joined the platform on April 16 and made $1 million in her first week.
The Scary Movie star, who secretly split from husband Simon Borchert in September 2025, told Page Six that she plans to use her huge earnings to buy a house.
My Name Is Earl star Jamie Pressley also recently joined OnlyFans, allowing him to “connect directly” with fans in his own way.
