Beyoncé shared an image of herself wearing a purple Saint Laurent dress on Instagram on April 27th. The post comes shortly after she celebrated the 10th anniversary of her 2016 album Lemonade. One fan noticed that her post was related to the music video for her Lemonade single “Hold Up.”
Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade celebrated its 10th anniversary on April 23rd, and she continued to pay homage to it with a new look that subtly ties into the project.
Today, the singer took to Instagram to share a series of photos wearing a dramatic purple oversized dress from Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection. The dress was decorated with puff sleeves and ruffles.
Beyoncé accessorized with a pearl Cult Gaia bag, black sunglasses, and a diamond and pearl choker necklace.
Eagle-eyed TikTok fans noticed that one of the photos in her post looked very similar to a still from her “Hold Up” music video where she puts one foot on a step.
This fan theorized that this could be a hint that Beyoncé’s next album, “Act III,” could also be a visual album like “Lemonade.”
Fans also noticed similarities between Beyoncé’s purple Saint Laurent dress and the bright yellow Roberto Cavalli dress she wore in “Hold Up.” They noted that she was also wearing Saint Laurent in that video, pairing the yellow dress with black polka dot platform heels from the house.
Beyoncé was originally supposed to wear a different dress, stylist B. Akerlund explained in a 2016 interview with Billboard.
“We had already chosen another outfit, but the yellow Roberto Cavalli dress showed up a day late because it was right off the runway[from the fall 2016 collection],” Akerlund recalls. “We didn’t feel out of place in any other dress and wore Cavalli. At that moment, we knew this was the ultimate vision of what we needed for this video.”
“Everything had different shapes, from flowy to see-through and still sexy…the dresses had it all,” the stylist added. “Ultimately, the yellow dress is what makes this video so iconic, memorable and stands out.”
