Nicki Glazer slammed Victoria Beckham for refusing to smile while hosting the 20th annual Time 100 Gala on Thursday night.
“One of the most impressive people on the list is, of course, Victoria Beckham,” the comedian began in his opening monologue, as seen in a video posted by The Hollywood Reporter.
“Oh my god. She used to be a global pop star and now she’s a full-fledged fashion designer. She’s married to David Beckham. She’s rich, successful and fabulous. What does it take to make you smile? I mean, really, smile. You’re one of the only Brits who should.”
The camera then panned to the fashion designer. Her lips curled into a smile, her elbows resting on the table, and she tried not to burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, David, who was sitting next to her, was seen giggling.
This cartoon isn’t wrong, as Victoria has a lot to celebrate, including Friday’s GAP collection launch and the celebration of the Victoria Beckham brand at the TIME100 Summit.
But on a personal note, the Spice Girls alum and soccer star has been estranged from her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham for years.
In an article published in The Cut earlier this month, sources claimed Victoria and David offered to meet the aspiring chef and his wife Nicola Peltz in any state in an effort to repair their shattered family.
The source claimed that the parties, whether lawyers, Peltz’s family, therapists or mediators, are pushing for a relationship.
However, in January, Brooklyn, 27, released a scathing statement, making it clear that he has no intention of fixing the issue.
At the time, he wrote on Instagram: “I don’t want to reconcile with my family.”
Brooklyn went on to claim that there was a rift between her parents before she married Peltz in 2022, citing their distaste for influencers.
In a bombshell social media post, Brooklyn also accused Victoria and David of controlling the way the press talked about their family “throughout their lives” through “histrionic social media posts, family affairs, and fake relationships.”
The athlete and founder of Victoria Beckham Beauty, who are parents to sons Cruise and Romeo and daughter Harper, have yet to address the Brooklyn allegations, but earlier this week Victoria made a rare comment about their children.
“We always put our children first,” she insisted on the “Today” show. “We have always focused on protecting children because we love them so much.”
Victoria also praised the “amazing people” she and David had around them during a “tough time.”
“Me and David, we’re very close,” she exclaimed. “We’re very close with my parents and David’s parents. We support each other in everything we do.”
