Episode 5 of ‘Saturday Night Live UK’ began with a skit in which Keir Starmer mocked Peter Mandelson’s choice to be British ambassador to the US.
In this sketch, Al Nash plays Jeremy Clarkson (a.k.a. “The Fake Farmer and the Real Idiot”) as the host of “Who Wants to Be a Billionaire?” and George Fouracres as Starmer. The question posed was: “Is it a good idea to give Peter Mandelson the job?” His possible answers are: A: No. B: Of course not. C: It won’t take a million years. D: Yes.
If Starmer were to split 50-50, he would be left with the options C: In less than a million years and D: Yes. But he still couldn’t make up his mind and called a friend. And the friend he chose was… Mandelson.
Mandelson, described by Nash as a “Bond-adjacent pedophile villain,” is bathed in red light while wearing a JE monogrammed dressing gown.
This week’s episode is hosted by Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan and features musical guests Foo Fighters.
