Eugene Mirman, the voice actor known for his role as Gene Belcher on “Bob’s Burgers,” has spoken out after surviving a brutal car crash earlier this week.
“Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all the well wishes, love, and kind messages from friends and strangers,” he wrote in the Instagram caption. “I am extremely grateful to the heroic people who pulled me out of the car and to the warm, kind, and capable staff at the hospital who cared for me and helped me recover. All things considered, I am beyond grateful that I am here and doing relatively well. I don’t have a mobile phone, so I don’t really go online. If you’re a friend who’s sent you a kind and loving message, you know it’s hard not to respond with something like, “I’d love to be on your podcast.” I love you all, take care, Eugene. ”
Millman was traveling on the FE Everett Turnpike in New Hampshire on Tuesday when he crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza. NBC Boston reports that it is a notorious location for car accidents. As his car burst into flames, he was pulled from the wreckage by a group of witnesses, including state troopers providing security for New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte, who happened to be nearby. Millman suffered “serious injuries” and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, according to a New Hampshire State Police press release.
