Months before footage of Taylor Frankie Paul arguing with Dakota Mortensen surfaced, she seemed to hint about the incident on TikTok.
In an August 2025 video, the “Mormon Wife Secrets” star mouthed lyrics from Rihanna’s 2007 hit “Breaking Dish.”
“Is he cheating on me? Hey, I don’t know. I’m looking around for something else to throw/I’ve been here all night smashing dishes/I won’t stop until I see a police light,” she lip-syncs as she smiles and sits in her car.
He wrote at the top of the clip, “Tip: Don’t throw things, you might see police lights,” and joked in the caption, “Please don’t.”
As interest rose again, the comment thread was filled with harsh comments, including one saying, “This has aged terribly,” and another saying, “Well, this is ironic.”
Paul’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The video resurfaced Thursday after ABC canceled Paul’s season of The Bachelorette after video of the 2023 altercation was released hours earlier.
“In light of today’s newly released video, we have made the decision not to proceed with a new season of The Bachelorette at this time and are focused on supporting our family,” the station said.
Meanwhile, Paul released his own statement. “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes the safety and security of her family,” a spokesperson for Paul, who was scheduled to star in the series starting Sunday, told Page Six.
“After enduring years of extensive emotional and physical abuse and threats of retribution in silence, Taylor has finally found the strength to confront her accusers and is taking steps to ensure she and her children are protected from further harm,” the statement continued.
“Too many women suffer in silence while surviving ex-partners who are aggressive, jealous and refuse to move on with their lives.”
The statement concluded, “Taylor remains silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is now exploring all options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
Mortensen’s representatives later denied Paul’s abuse claims in a statement to Page Six, branding them “baseless.”
In 2023 footage obtained by TMZ on Thursday, the MomTok star is seen throwing a metal bar stool at Mortensen while her then-5-year-old daughter Indi was nearby.
Mortensen claimed in the video that he could hear Indy crying and that he was “hit in the head.” Paul claimed to police that her ex threw her to the ground before recording.
She was arrested at the time and charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor count each of mischief and child abuse. Under a plea agreement, she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and had the charge reduced to a misdemeanor on condition that she fully comply with the terms of a three-year suspended sentence.
The other charges were dismissed, she said during an appearance on “Call Her Daddy” in September.
However, another alleged incident between Paul and Mortensen surfaced in February, and a Draper Police Department official said, “The allegations go both ways.”
Mortensen filed for a restraining order in Utah on Tuesday, seeking custody of her 2-year-old son Ever, alleging that Mortensen strangled her during an encounter in February.
A source close to Mortensen said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday that he is focused on his son amidst the drama.
“He knew this could lead to him coming out, but he didn’t actively plan on doing so because he’s always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor. It’s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent successfully,” the rep said.
“He just wanted this issue to go away without saying anything, as usual,” the statement continued, adding, “He has never given any sit-down interviews on his side.”
“I think he’s kind of just letting everything happen to him and now, in all its seriousness, he realizes he can’t do it.”
