Scarlett Johansson was photographed filming the upcoming ‘Exorcist’ reboot with co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor in New York City.
The actress stepped out without makeup on Tuesday afternoon while filming the highly anticipated Mike Flanagan directed film.
She appeared anxious during a tense conversation with Ejiofor outside the building, which was cordoned off with yellow police tape.
Johansson, 41, and Ejiofor, 48, were also surrounded by extra police officers at the scene.
The “Lost in Translation” star stepped out in a red button-up shirt, jeans, coat and sneakers.
Ejiofor, on the other hand, wore a gray coat and pants.
Johansson’s character plays the mother, while actor Jacobi Jupe plays the son on screen.
“Scarlett is a wonderful actress whose captivating performances, from genre films to summer blockbusters, are always grounded and authentic,” Flanagan said in a statement in November.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to have her join us in this ‘Exorcist’ movie.”
The film, scheduled for release in March 2027, also stars Carla Gugino, Diana Lane, John Leguizamo and Hamish Linklater.
This horror movie is set in the world of The Exorcist.
However, it will be a completely new storyline and will not be a sequel to the 2023 movie “The Exorcist: Believer.”
The original 1973 film “The Exorcist” was directed by William Friedkin and earned a lifetime box office gross of $441 million and won two Academy Awards.
The film, directed by Friedkin, starred Ellen Burstyn as Chris McNeil.
In the film, MacNeil enlists the help of a priest to perform an exorcism on his daughter Regan MacNeil, played by actress Linda Blair.
