Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka attended the premiere of his new dark comedy DTF St. Louis for a rare date night.
The couple, who married in 2001, flashed happy smiles as they posed for photos on the red carpet at the DGA Theater Complex in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
For the outing, Bateman wore a black suit over a black crewneck shirt, while Anka opted for a red gown with gold details.
Other shots showed the pair, 57, in each other’s arms while the anchor looked up lovingly at the other.
Bateman’s new series, which also stars Linda Cardellini, David Harbour, Pedro Pascal and Peter Sarsgaard, revolves around a love triangle that goes awry when one of them dies.
Most recently, the Arrested Development alum, who shares daughters Francesca, 19, and Maple, 14, with Anka, revealed that she decided to quit drinking ahead of her 2001 wedding because drinking caused “tension” in their relationship.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter last week, the “Ozark” actor recalled when an anchor asked him “when the spigot[of the party days]will completely turn off.”
“[She]didn’t ask for me to be completely exempt, but it was kind of a back and forth,” he recalled of their “negotiations” over alcohol and cocaine intake.
“I was like, ‘Well, I feel like I’m six months away from my[sobriety]ETA, but if I could land this plane now, it would be a lot less stressful, so I’m just going to give it a go,'” he told the outlet.
Bateman has remained sober in California ever since.
“I have friends who wear really cold bottoms, but I’m lucky enough to realize that, ‘If I still want to achieve what I want to achieve, this is probably the limit,'” he explained to the magazine.
“I’ve always wanted to have a lot of these boxes checked before I became a father, before I became a man with the career I wanted. It wasn’t just something I wanted, but also a hunch that if I got the right job, I might be able to get it,” the host of the SmartLess podcast added.
Bateman explained to Esquire in December 2025 that his sobriety, wedding, and role in the groundbreaking Arrested Development all happened within “12 to 24 months,” and that he also quit smoking.
The previous 10 years were “a confusing and difficult learning curve.”
Mr Bateman said there were “some things we couldn’t do” to be successful and 2001 was a good time to “put the plan into action”.
