Savannah Guthrie aggressively questioned Kylie Kelsey about her brother-in-law Travis Kelsey’s wedding to Taylor Swift.
Guthrie asked Kylie, the wife of Travis’ brother Jason, “Do you think there will be a wedding this year?” during Friday morning’s episode of the “Today” show.
Kylie squirmed in her seat before replying, “Oh, I don’t know.”
Instead of leaving her alone, the journalist asked her further questions: “Are you sure you don’t know?”
“I don’t know,” Kylie replied.
The 33-year-old host of the Not Gonna Lie podcast then laughed uncomfortably and looked away, avoiding eye contact.
Guthrie, 54, poked fun at the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast and asked again, “Are you going to lie?”
Kylie laughed off the question, exclaiming, “Yeah! I’m not going to lie.”
Guthrie lightened the mood by asking if he would “get himself into trouble.”
“Never!” Kylie said. “But I’m so excited to celebrate, I can’t wait.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposed to the pop star in August 2025 after two years of dating.
A source told Page Six that the couple plans to wed this summer in Rhode Island.
Earlier this week, Guthrie pressed Serena Williams about a possible return to tennis.
“Really? You hear that on the ‘Today’ show? Oh my gosh. Really?” Williams said.
Instead of continuing the interview, Mr. Guthrie asked, “Is that a no?”
This caused the athlete to stumble over his words, saying, “People on set are laughing. It’s distracting. … I’m just having fun and enjoying my life right now. … It’s not a yes or no. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”
When Guthrie pointed out that her response was “maybe,” Williams shushed her.
“It’s not a maybe. Listen, I have two kids,” Williams said. “I’m a full-time housewife. When I filled out my occupation the other day, I wrote ‘housewife.'”
Towards the end of the sit-down, Ms. Guthrie repeatedly asked Ms. Williams if she was angry with her, appearing to regret her prying questions.
