Sidney Sweeney…is not apologizing for anything.
She covers Cosmopolitan magazine’s “Love Issue,” which was released just days after the launch of her new lingerie line, “Syrn.”
“This is me reclaiming my body and my story and using it to empower other women,” she said.
Sweeney’s Cosmo shoot certainly brings the heat, depicting the 28-year-old in various stages of undress and striking provocative poses. However, this message is not “for men.”
When asked whose “eyes” she’s prioritizing in her new business venture, the “Euphoria” star had an empowering message.
“People say, ‘Oh, she’s doing this for a man,’ or, ‘Oh, she’s a man’s girl,’ but I’m like, ‘What’s more girly than owning your body and doing it for yourself?'” she said.
“Whether it’s for yourself, for someone else, or for a camera lens, we want it to be the wearer’s choice, the wearer’s choice.”
Elsewhere in the article, she says, “We want to show women that they can take back their power and fully liberate themselves.”
Wearing all her own lingerie, Sweeney begins with a black lace bra ($54) and briefs ($29) by Syrn, which she layers with a completely sheer skirt and a floaty bolero.
In another photo, she wears a similar black lace bra ($89) and thong set ($19) and a long-sleeved top that covers little except her arms.
She was a 32DD sixth grader and talks about the time she bought her first underwire bra. I wore it until it fell apart and I still own it. “This has been with me all my life. I want to create bras that women will remember,” she explained.
“I feel like I’m forever having to explain how boobs work,” Sweeney quipped, recalling a conversation over the bikini top she wore in the 2023 rom-com “Anyone But You,” adding, “Everyone was dragging me along and I was like, ‘Guys, when your boobs are heavy and not fake, if the top doesn’t fit properly, it’s going to ride up.'”
She has certainly created a lot of buzz with her line, which offers bra sizes from 30-38 A to DDD/F and underwear from XXS to 3X.
The star pulled off potentially illegal publicity stunts in the run-up to the launch, posing for racy photos on the streets of Los Angeles and elsewhere.
