Indonesia’s JAFF Market 2025 concluded with the announcement of industry awards and development grants to support Indonesian film projects, providing recipients with financial support, technical services and a path to international markets.

The three-day gathering, supported by Amar Bank, saw 10 awards presented at the closing ceremony. Support ranges from travel grants to major international festivals to substantial production equipment packages valued at approximately $30,000.

“Ghost Island” won multiple awards and secured $10,000 worth of sound design post-production support from Kongchak Studio and $15,000 worth of editing and color grading services from Prodigihouse Ecosystem. The project also received a $3,000 development grant from Visinema.

“A Life Full of Holes” similarly received multiple accolades, including production equipment support from Brandlink Indonesia, promotion to the Hong Kong Asian Film Financing Forum 2026 through MTN International and YCCI, and a $4,000 development grant from United Team of Art.

The Film Institute honored “Our Son” and “My Mother” and provided travel and accommodation support to the two producers to attend the Asia Pacific Screen Awards 2026. “Our Son” also received $9,000 in color grading support from Prodigihouse Ecosystem.

White Light provided $15,000 worth of color grading and mastering services for “Rose Pandanwangi” and MTN International facilitated “Evil Underground”’s participation in Rotterdam Lab 2026.

“To My Dearest, My Dear…” secured both production equipment support from Brandlink India and a development grant from Visinema.

Two intellectual properties, “Elang Hitam” and “World Without Sleep”, were selected for exhibition at ACFM 2026 through the JAFF Content Market, developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Asian Content Film Market.

The second market attracted 116 exhibitors representing 122 companies, 1,431 accredited industry participants, and more than 7,784 visitors from 14 countries. The gathering facilitated 2,433 one-on-one meetings, including pitching sessions and business discussions.

“JAFF Market continues to grow not only in size but also in purpose. We are building a platform that connects ideas and capital, talent and opportunity, and Indonesia with the world,” said market director Linda Gozali. “What we have seen over the last three days is evidence that Indonesia’s film industry is ready for deeper investment, stronger regulation and broader cooperation.”

Gozali said $2.5 million worth of transactions were completed in the market, and the total economic impact of the market was Rp130 billion ($7.8 million).

Variety announced the top Indonesian films for 2026 at the close of the market, highlighting 12 titles, including Hanun Buramancho’s Children of Heaven, Kamila Andini’s The Four Seasons of Java, Joko Anwar’s Ghost in the Cell, Edwin’s Sleep No More, and Josep Angi Noyen’s The Sea Speaks Its Name. The selection also included “Dance of the Damned,” “Garuda: Dare to Dream,” “The Last Flight,” “Na Willa,” “Operation: Pesta Pora,” “Rainbow in Mars,” and “Suzanna Witchcraft.”

Founded in 2006, the Jogja Netpac Asian Film Festival established JAFF Market in 2024 as a platform to connect filmmakers, investors, film institutions and content creators. The market was held from November 29th to December. It was held at Yogya Expo Center in Yogyakarta as part of the broader 20th anniversary celebrations of the Yogya Netpac Asian Film Festival.
