“Landman” Season 2 was a hit on the oil, with the premiere episode bringing in 9.2 million views in its first two days of release.
According to Paramount, this number is based on total minutes watched divided by the episode’s total running time. The oil industry drama’s second season debut began November 16 on Paramount+.
Paramount also said that the 9.2 million views were a 262% increase from the series’ original airing in 2024, and the Season 1 sample size was a 320% increase from the Season 2 premiere. The latter number is based on season 1 views over the past 28 days compared to the two days after season 2 debuted.
Billy Bob Thornton leads the cast of The Landman, which also includes Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Corrie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.
The official logline for season 2 reads, “As more oil comes out of the earth, so do more secrets, and Tommy Norris (Thornton) may be closer to his breaking point than he realizes. As pressure mounts from the shadows of M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore), and his extended family, survival in West Texas is cruel rather than noble. And sooner or later, something has to break.”
Taylor Sheridan co-created the series with Christian Wallace. Both will serve as executive producers along with David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Thornton, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kaye. Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin and Jason Hock and Texas Monthly’s JK Nickel and Megan Creed will also executive produce. Tommy Turtle will serve as co-executive producer. “Landman” is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosk Ranch Productions.
