Minka Kelly spoke passionately about her boyfriend Dan Reynolds when asked about him on The Drew Barrymore Show, a day after she awkwardly shut down a similar question from Jenna Bush Hager.
During an interview Wednesday, Barrymore wondered if the Imagine Dragons singer, 38, had read Kelly’s memoir, “Tell Me Everything.”
The ‘Champagne Problems’ star, 45, explained that her boyfriend actually read her book before they met in person.
The two had been texting and FaceTiming through a mutual friend when Kelly said she had recently submitted a manuscript.
“He said, ‘I want to read it,'” the actress recalls. “And I thought, ‘Well, all right, here you go. Either you get scared and run for the hills, or you see the beauty of it all.'”
She said Reynolds was “fortunately the latter” and that the experience “brought them closer together.”
Barrymore quipped: “God, how wonderful would it really be if we all had a record of our lives?”
Kelly and the Grammy Award winner went public with their romance in 2022, but have largely kept their love life out of the spotlight.
But the “Friday Night Lights” alum lavished praise on her partner on Instagram over the summer.
“This beautiful man healed the hurt in me that he didn’t inflict, just by being himself,” she captioned a selfie in July. “By embodying true masculinity: vulnerable, honest, loving masculinity.
“His compassion, priorities, values, and integrity are all rooted in love,” Kelly continued. “Thank you for loving me. Thank you for blessing my life in ways I never imagined and always dreamed of.”
She concluded, “Dan, I love you. Happy birthday. Now let’s dance!”
When Bush Hager, 43, asked about Tuesday’s “Jenna & Friends” social media upload, Kelly visibly bristled.
“I feel very lucky,” she said shortly, calling Reynolds “a really good person.”
The “Today” show co-host read the mood in the room and replied, “Okay, I guess you don’t want to talk about it. That’s fine.”
Guest host Olivia Munn also jumped in to share anecdotes from her experience working with Reynolds on his band’s “Cutthroat” music video in 2021.
Reynolds was previously married to Aja Volkman and they have four children together.
Kelly’s relationship history has been linked to comedian Trevor Noah, actor Jesse Williams, and other A-listers over the years.
