Kim Kardashian and North West have dismissed criticism about the preteen’s controversial finger piercings.
Earlier this month, a TikTok user claimed that the eldest Kardashian daughter was “breaking[her]heart for having her fingers pierced.”
A netizen captioned the video, “What’s going on #Northwest #Kardashian.”
But Skims co-founder North, 12, suggested there was no need to worry, commenting from their joint TikTok account: “It’s okay🫶.”
Several users took to Williams’ comment section to respond to North and Kardashian’s comments with a variety of reactions.
“This is not the gentle parenting of the North,” one person wrote.
“No, that’s not true. You’re 12 years old and I’m sorry, but your mom should do better on your behalf (I hope you see this, Kimberly),” another woman added.
“Let the haters hate, you’re amazing!!,” said a third fan.
“Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you break the norm that it’s good to go for bad parenting… even if you’re still in high school,” a fourth netizen commented.
In September, the “All’s Fair” star was accused of having North get dangerous finger skin piercings.
According to Healthline, dermal piercings are different from regular piercings because they “don’t have separate entry and exit points for the jewelry.”
The following month, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star defended her daughter’s controversial fashion and beauty choices.
Speaking on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, she explained North’s controversial black corset and miniskirt: “It’s so difficult and so funny because all the kids are wearing the same thing.”
“But then my daughter tried to wear it and I was like, ‘Okay, I’m not going to wear it anymore.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she added.
But days after the Kardashian interview aired, North continued to make headlines by getting a fake tattoo on her face.
Earlier this month, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star revealed that it was actually North who applauded the backlash over her appearance.
“She responds to comments and says, ‘This is no big deal,'” Kardashian recalled in Complex’s “GOAT Talk” video, calling it “a nice round of applause.”
“On the internet, it was like, ‘Kim will protect the North until the end in this outfit,'” she pointed out.
