The next subject of David Letterman’s Netflix interview series, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” is Adam Sandler. The special episode will air on the streamer on December 1st.
The two will talk about Sandler’s rise from stand-up comedian to “Saturday Night Live” mainstay to global movie star. Earlier this year, Sandler starred in the sequel “Happy Gilmore 2,” which hit record streaming numbers, and he stars opposite George Clooney and Laura Dern in Noah Baumbach’s new drama “Jay Kelly,” which debuts on Netflix on December 5.
Mr. Letterman has known Mr. Sandler for decades, and Mr. Sandler appeared on Mr. Sandler’s late-night talk show several times over the years.
“My Next Guest” aired 27 episodes over five seasons and three specials. On the show, Letterman interviewed Barack Obama, Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jay-Z, Robert Downey Jr., Volodymyr Zelensky, Dave Chappelle, Miley Cyrus, Caitlin Clarke, and Billie Eilish.
Letterman filmed a special episode with Sandler on September 29th at New York University. The interview was recorded in front of a live audience of students, but Sandler was given a surprise before the recording began.
