Isla Fisher has revealed that she is “trying to build a new life” following her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.
In a new interview with British publication Elle Decoration published on Wednesday, November 12, the Now You See Me: Now You Don’t actress, 49, said it took her a while to get used to her newly completed London home.
“When everything arrived, I cried a little because this was my first time living in my own home as a single woman,” she told the publication of the decorating process.

Fisher and the Borat star, 54, previously announced they would file for divorce in 2023, ending their 13-year marriage, but their divorce was finalized in June. The former couple have three children, two daughters and a son, but they have been kept away from the spotlight.
“Trying to create a new life at the grassroots level was difficult, at least emotionally, but very rewarding,” the Confessions of a Shopaholic actress added in an interview with Elle Decoration.
And despite splitting from her spouse of more than 10 years, the Australian actress said she is more than satisfied with her life and loves the space she calls home.
“I’m enjoying this new version of my life,” Fisher said. “I don’t have to party at home anymore. I love taking a bath. I light some candles, bring my laptop and put on some Netflix. It’s super exciting.”
When announcing that their divorce had been finalized, the couple expressed their mutual respect for each other in a statement.
“We are proud of everything we have accomplished together, continue to have great respect for each other, remain friends, and are committed to raising our wonderful children together,” the statement read. “We ask the media to continue to respect the privacy of children.”
Over the summer, the Wedding Crashers actress spoke to Harper’s Bazaar Australia for their August cover story, where she spoke candidly about a “tough few years” and how she’s been spending her time lately.

“I’m really excited about the next chapter,” she said in an interview. “I’m refocusing on my career because I used to be so focused on my kids, and of course I still am, because[they are]my true love. But I’m enjoying working again.”
She added that her “difficult situation” has given her an opportunity to put things into perspective and try to figure out what she wants to do “publicly and privately.”

“I’m trying to remember my new identity as a person outside of the partnership and stay as healthy as possible,” Fisher said. “Every time there’s a change, it’s hard to adapt to it. But I hope it works out.”
