The long-awaited season finale of Celebrity Traitors UK was briefly leaked in Canada ahead of its broadcast on the BBC on Thursday night.
According to BBC News, the final was uploaded by mistake and was viewed by hundreds of people on Canadian streaming service Crave. It was removed a few hours later. But those who watched the episode are now on social media.
A BBC spokesperson said it was not the BBC’s fault for uploading the episode and urged viewers not to share spoilers. “To anyone who thinks they know how Celebrity Traitors ends, we ask that you keep everything you believe you know to yourself,” the statement said. “To ensure that the millions of fans who have faithfully followed every twist and turn of the series can enjoy tonight’s finale, please avoid sharing anything that could be a spoiler.”
A representative for Crave did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.
Featuring singer-songwriter Kat Burns, comedian Alan Carr, rugby player Joe Marler, Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed and author David Orozga, this season’s Celebrity Traitors UK was the most-watched TV show of the year, with an average of 12.6 million viewers watching the first four episodes. On Thursday night it will be decided whether the traitor or the faithful will win a £100,000 charity prize.
The Celebrity Traitors UK finale will air on BBC One at 9pm UK time, with an extended version later on BBC Two.
