David Beckham was knighted wearing his wife Victoria Beckham’s first menswear design. David called the honor “definitely my proudest moment.” Victoria also attended the ceremony wearing a custom-made navy version of Bella’s dress.
David Beckham just celebrated a historic style milestone when he was knighted by King Charles at Windsor Castle while wearing the first tailored menswear line from his wife Victoria Beckham’s fashion label.
The former footballer opted for a custom three-piece morning suit made from a deep charcoal gray British wool and mohair blend. The design represents a new chapter for the Victoria Beckham brand, marking its first official menswear creation after nearly 17 years in business.
Standing proudly next to her husband, Victoria Beckham (officially known as Lady Victoria) wore a bespoke navy version of her best-selling Bella dress, one of the brand’s most popular styles.
Speaking after the ceremony, David reflected on the honor, adding: “Honestly, it’s such an incredible moment for a boy who was born in Leytonstone, in the east end of London, and right here at Windsor Castle, to be honored by the most important and most respected institution in the world, His Majesty the King. This is definitely my proudest moment.”
Victoria congratulated her husband on Instagram, writing: “David, from the moment I met you 28 years ago, you have always been so proud to represent your country. There is no one who loves England more and respects our royal family more, on and off the pitch. The fact that you have been honored by the King today is something I will always treasure. You have accomplished so much, but you are still the same kind, humble, hard-working man, the most wonderful husband, and the most wonderful husband I met nearly 30 years ago.” Dad, I have never been more proud than I am today. we all love you very much. ”
The moment comes amid renewed attention to the Beckham family following the release of Netflix’s Victoria Beckham documentary series, which premiered last month. The show gave us an up-close look at the brand’s London atelier as the Spice Girl turned powerhouse designer opened up about her life as she prepared for Paris Fashion Week.
