After just a few months of dating, Sidney Sweeney and Scooter Braun didn’t expect their romance to blossom into the way it has, a source tells Us Weekly, and they cherish their bond.
“The situation is becoming serious and very realistic,” said a source. “Neither of us expected it to turn into something serious at first, so we’re surprised that the bond turned out to be real.”
The 28-year-old actress had no plans to date anyone seriously after calling off her engagement to Jonathan Davino in January, and began dating the 44-year-old music executive this summer. (“Everything is casual. She lives her life and works hard,” a source told People on September 3.)
However, Brown reportedly changed her mind due to how much he encouraged her as she pursued her career. “Scooter is very supportive and that’s one of the reasons she’s attracted to him,” the source said. “He takes a deep interest in her career and life and often provides valuable perspective and guidance, which she truly appreciates.”

A source elaborated that the couple “spent the last month together in Los Angeles, making time between Sydney’s busy press tour and filming ‘Euphoria,'” adding that overall they “balance each other out. Scooter’s charm and confidence are a big draw for Sydney.”
On September 30th, a source similarly told People, “[They]have a lot in common and neither of them cares what other people think.” Their loved ones are also happy to see them together.
Regarding Brown in particular, “they say it’s been a while since they’ve seen him this settled in a relationship, and you can see how much he admires her,” the source said. “He thinks she’s smart, kind and fun, and she appreciates how he sees her for who she is beyond all the noise.”
