Heidi Klum has big goals for her 2025 Halloween costume.
Days before her annual Halloween party, Klum told PEOPLE that her costume is coming together well, but that “nice” doesn’t accurately describe this year’s costume. While she’s kept quiet about what fans can expect from her necessarily flashy outfit, she’s spilled a few minutes’ worth of details about what she’ll be wearing.
“I always try to do something different, so it gets really ugly,” she teases. “Last year, I thought it was so cute with my husband as an ET. And the year before that, we were big peacocks with the performers. After the worm[of 2022]which felt so simple, I thought it was so cute with my husband as an ET. And I thought it was different because there were 15 people (performers as part of the costume) and so many bodies creating one thing. So I think I came up with something new.”

Every year, Klum not only spices up Halloween by throwing extravagant parties for her famous friends, but also dons equally flamboyant costumes to add to the night’s fun.
Last year, Klum, 52, and her husband Tom Kaulitz, 36, both played the extraterrestrial characters ET in the 1982 film. On the red carpet, Klum told PEOPLE that she decided to embody the character because ET is “almost a part of our lives” and has always been a “huge fan.”
“[I]had a slightly different take on the universe, and I saw ET being so cute and wiggly and all the moments where ET dresses up with wigs and stuff, and I thought it would be fun to be ET and especially meet them,” she said of the costumes, adding that she started getting ready at 11 a.m. on the day of the party.
The previous year, Klum recruited 15 performers to dress up as peacocks. Dressed all in blue, she represented the bird’s torso and her acrobatic performers painted the wings.
“I wanted to dress up with so many people. I wanted to get together with so many people and be one thing. And for me, that one thing was a peacock in my heart,” the L’Oréal Paris ambassador told PEOPLE at a party that year.

Klum’s 2022 Worm costume marked her return to the Halloween scene after not partying for two years. Kaulitz joined her as a fisherman and completed the couple’s costumes.
The Project Runway host went live on Amazon while getting ready earlier in the day, and fans speculated what her final outfit would be. She also revealed on the live stream that one of her favorite things about hosting a party is trying to guess who’s underneath each costume the attendees are wearing.
