Here’s what you need to know about Justin Lupe’s husband, Tyson Mason.
Tyson Mason is a professional artist
Compared to Lupe, Mason seems less conspicuous. Occasional posts on his Instagram profile reveal examples of his artistic practice, including detailed drawings of people and bodies. He has also appeared in several short films and worked in the art department of many productions.
In September 2025, Mason’s work, along with several other artists, was featured in an exhibition called “Art Collective” in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. Lupe celebrated her husband’s success by posting a photo on Instagram from the exhibition’s launch party with the caption, “Wow! You put on an art show! Thank you to everyone who attended. Love you (Tyson Mason), you really did it.”
Some of Mason’s work is available for purchase at the online store Westward General, including a detailed portrait of national icon Willie Nelson. “Tyson is an incredible artist with a talent for capturing detail and humor in art,” the caption reads.
In an interview with clothing brand Dôen, Lupe revealed that she counts Mason as one of her biggest champions, explaining, “I’m very close to my husband and he’s definitely my biggest supporter.”
Mason is raising his daughter with Lupe.
Details about how Lupe and Mason met are still under wraps, but the two have shared photos and words about their daughter, Elise, who was born in August 2024.
Lupe publicly revealed her pregnancy on the red carpet at the SAG Awards in February 2024. Sharing a photo from the event on Instagram, Lupe tagged Mason, joked about her baby belly, and wrote, “The man in the second photo made the first one possible.”

She later revealed that she was pregnant while filming the first season of Nobody Wants This, but managed to keep this fact a secret until it was safe to tell the cast and crew.
On August 10, 2025, Mason shared a tribute on Instagram on Ellis’ first birthday. “One year with you, baby,” he wrote. “Thank you for giving me the most glorious adventure of my life. I love you so much sweet, fierce and soulful little moondrop.”
In February 2025, Lupe shared photos and video clips of Mason and her daughter on Instagram with the caption: “Six months in the trenches with you and, well, baby, you’re a treat.” Three months later, the artist returned the favor, praising his wife’s abilities as a mother to Elise, captioning her Instagram, “Happy Mother’s Day to the best mom!…Our baby was lucky.”
Mason and Lupe are based in Los Angeles…for now.
Unsurprisingly, Lupe seems to love spending time with her husband Mason and his family, telling Us Weekly in January 2025, “I love my house, I love my house, I love my animals, I love my baby, I love my husband, I love everything about it.”
Lupe noted that their home is very cozy, telling the Los Angeles Times in December 2024: “I love snuggling with (Ellis), Tyson, Lily the dog, and Addie the cat. Our bed is home to all the little critters and it’s like a fort of sorts, and it’s really fun to just relax.”
Lupe and Mason currently live in Los Angeles for work reasons, but Rolling Stone reported in September 2025 that “they spend their summers in upstate New York, surrounded by tranquil greenery, streams and mountains.” In an August 2025 Instagram post, Lupe shared photos of her family’s “dreamy East Coast summer,” suggesting they traveled together and spent time outdoors.
According to Rolling Stone, “They grew to love the Catskills so much that they almost bought a house here.” Although the sale fell through, Lupe and her husband still dream of living outside Los Angeles, perhaps in Montana or their home state of Colorado, the newspaper reported.

A few months after welcoming their daughter, Mason and Lupe got married. The couple married on February 18, 2025 in a ceremony at a courthouse in Beverly Hills, California, People confirmed. Ellis and her family’s dog also attended the wedding. For her special day, Lupe “wore an ivory satin floor-length slip dress and carried a small bouquet of flowers,” the magazine revealed.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Lupe revealed the “little everyday things” that Mason does for her, which she said make him a “great partner.” “For example, he gives me a bath every night and gives me water with candles and electrolytes and ice,” she explained. “It’s all the little things he does to make my day a little bit better. It all adds up.”
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Lupe recalled that “Tyson set up the bath area every night” so he could bathe with Ellis. “He puts out the candles, plays some music, puts out a towel, and puts out a glass of iced water,” she said. “He’s such a sweet guy that it’s kind of a ritual for us.” Basically, Lupe and Mason seem like a perfect match.
