The cast of “Boy Meets World” reunites to support Topanga.
On Tuesday’s dedication night for “Dancing with the Stars,” Danielle Fishel will dance to the hit comedy’s theme song in a number honoring William Daniels, who played Mr. George Feeney.
On Monday, Fishel shared on Instagram that many of the cast members will be in the audience, including Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews), William Russ (Alan Matthews), Trina McGee (Angela Moore), Bonnie Bartlett (Lila Bolander and Williams’ wife), Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter), Alex Dessert (Eli), and more. Williams).
“This is an amazing group of people joining us for tomorrow’s DWTS Night of Dedication! I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to do our best and joyful celebratory dance for the man who has been responsible for becoming a teacher to thousands of people and who has helped raise multiple generations,” Fishel captioned his Instagram. “While this dance is my dedication to Bill, I represent all of you who have loved and appreciated him and his career for decades. Unfortunately, @rider_strong is working out of town and will be missed.”
Fishel performs a jive with partner Pasha Pashkov on the October 14 episode. Daniels, 98, will also join the duo.
“It feels crazy to say it out loud, but yes, you can dance to the Boy Meets World theme song that you all know and love,” she previously shared on the Daniel with the Stars podcast. “I’m so excited. This is a dedication to Bill and the role he’s played in my life and the role ‘Boy Meets World’ has played in my life. I really feel like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is the second act for me in my career and as a performer.”
She talked about how much of an inspiration Daniels has been to her life and to many members of the television world. She added, “It’s going to be very memorable to be able to give him this platform to say thank you and receive the love that he deserves. So I’m very, very excited. I can’t wait.”
“Boy Meets World” aired from 1993 to 2000. The cast later reunited for the spinoff Girl Meets World, which aired for three seasons on Disney Channel from 2014 to 2017.
The dedication night of “Dancing with the Stars” will be broadcast on Tuesdays at 8pm ET. It will be available on ABC and Disney+ and streamed the next day on Hulu.
