Jennifer Garner believes it may be best for her ex-husband to take a break from dating after Ben Affleck divorces Jennifer Lopez.
“Jen thinks it might actually be good for Ben to take a break from dating for a while. She cares a lot about him and wants only what’s best for him at the end of the day,” a source exclusively told Page Six.
“From her perspective, he’s never been happier, and she feels it might be healthy for him to continue to put that energy into himself, his job, and his family, rather than jumping into a relationship all of a sudden.”
However, the source added that Garner, 54, is not trying to influence Affleck’s personal life and will support whatever decision he ultimately makes.
“That said, she trusts Ben to make his own decisions and will support him either way,” the source said.
However, another source told Page Six that the Gone Girl star, 53, isn’t completely closing the door on romance.
“Ben hasn’t ruled out dating and is open to being public again,” a source said. “He has a friend who has offered to start a relationship, but he’s also incredibly busy at the moment, so I’m not sure he has time for a serious, committed relationship.”
A source said the two-time Oscar winner’s main focus “at the moment” is his family and several upcoming projects, and “that’s where most of his energy is going.”
Representatives for Affleck and Garner did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The “Batman” star and the “13 Going on 30” actress were married for 10 years, from 2005 to 2015, and have three children: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14.
The ex-lovers just reunited last month when they took their daughter Violet to urgent care in Los Angeles.
As seen in photos obtained by Page Six, the Yale University student limped into the medical center with the help of his famous parents.
The “Argo” star wrapped his arm around Violet as he guided the Emmy nominee through the facility.
As previously reported, a source told Page Six that since Affleck and Lopez, 56, divorced, the former couple has been “spending more time together than ever before.”
Affleck and Garner “have a really deep bond,” a source said at the time, adding that they both “understand that not all exes get along.” “They are so grateful to have such a great relationship.”
Lopez and Affleck began dating in 2002 after co-starring on the set of the movie Gigli. The two first became engaged in November of that year, but called off their engagement in January 2004. The two rekindled their romance and got engaged for the second time several years later in 2021.
In August 2024, on the two-year anniversary of their wedding in Georgia (which took place after eloping in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022), Lopez filed for divorce from “The Rip” star.
