Summer House star K.J. Dillard has revealed that he has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and has been hospitalized.
“I actually had to go to the hospital for self-harm,” he told host Andy Cohen on Tuesday’s Part 1 of Bravo’s season 10 reunion.
“I was there for a week. Mia (Calabrese) and Ciara (Miller) were there almost every day,” Dillard added.
The reality star began crying while talking about her months-long recovery.
“I had to focus on myself. That’s what I needed,” said Dillard, 28, who said she is undergoing treatment and taking medication.
“All my life I have been distracting myself and running away from problems instead of facing them head-on,” he added.
The “Hit the Floor” musician said he was diagnosed with BPD, according to the Mayo Clinic. Borderline personality disorder is a mental health condition that affects how people feel about themselves and others, making it difficult for them to live their daily lives.
“I’m grateful to be here alive. I couldn’t be here, so I appreciate the support of my friends. Like everyone here has shown support in some way in their own way. So I’m grateful for that,” he shared.
“I’m so grateful that viewers are accepting it, because this is my truth. I’m not going to not be honest about what I’m going through, especially if it can help others,” the Bravolebrity added.
“Summer House” star Jesse Solomon tried to hold back tears as he praised Dillard for sharing his “inspiring story.”
“I’m thinking of you,” he said as Dillard hugged him.
Solomon, 33, added: “I’m glad you’re okay because I don’t want anyone to go through that. I’m glad he’s feeling better.”
Their castmate Carl Radke added that Dillard “will continue to do great things.”
Part 2 of the “Summerhouse” reunion premieres June 2 on Bravo.
