A24 has released a teaser trailer for its new drama thriller ‘Primetime’ starring Robert Pattinson as iconic ‘To Catch a Predator’ host Chris Hansen.
The film will be directed by ‘Ren Fair’ director Lance Oppenheim and written by Ajon Singh. Other cast members include Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers.
“In 2006, ‘To Catch a Predator’ host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history,” the Prime Time logline reads. Little has been revealed about the plot, but 2006 introduced a key chapter in “To Catch a Predator,” which follows Hansen and a camera crew as they attempt to catch a child predator in a complex decoy operation. In November 2006, Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Bill Conrat committed suicide in his Texas home while acting as law enforcement, and an NBC camera crew rushed to his home as part of a “catch the predator” investigation. Conrad’s case was part of a four-day sting operation in Murphy, Texas, in which 25 people were arrested. The operation was met with intense backlash from local residents, and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute cases filed against the individuals arrested.
“To Catch a Predator” aired on NBC from 2004 to 2007. The show was hugely popular at the time, and despite only airing for 20 episodes, it remains a cultural touchstone in television history and investigative reporting. “To Catch a Predator” has outlived its run through a viral YouTube compilation of the series’ most outlandish moments.
“Primetime” is a production of Range Media, Icki Eneo Arlo and Square Peg. Including the producer. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Robert Pattinson, Bryton McCloskey, Lars Knudsen, Tyler Camperone.
“Primetime” will be released in theaters in fall 2026. Check out the teaser below.
