The Duchess of Cambridge wore a powder blue Catherine Walker coat dress to Trooping the Color Saturday to pay tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
The look was very similar to another Catherine Walker outfit worn by her husband Prince William’s mother to the future king’s first Easter service in 1987. Similar to Middleton’s ensemble, Princess Diana’s ensemble featured a light blue hue with white trim.
The Princess of Wales accessorized her ensemble with a matching Philip Treacy hat, Irish Guards brooch and pearl floral Cassandra Gordo earrings. The earrings were worn at the inauguration of the new Archbishop of Canterbury earlier this year, and first debuted at the christening of his youngest son Prince Louis in 2018, Town and Country reported.
She also wore white Gianvito Rossi heels to the royal procession celebrating the King’s birthday at Buckingham Palace.
Middleton was also accompanied on the carriage ride by her children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8.
The boys wore suits and matching baby blue ties, while Charlotte wore a white Alessandra Rich dress with a matching bow in her hair. Her dress also had blue accents.
King Charles and Queen Camilla also rode in a carriage wearing matching red ceremonial costumes, with King Charles wearing a decorated military uniform and Camilla wearing a red coat dress and a feathered naval hat.
Prince William, Prince Edward and Princess Anne all rode in the back of the King’s carriage on horseback to take part in the traditional royal procession through central London.
Middleton, 44, has been steadily returning to major royal duties in recent months after recovering from cancer for a year. She took her first overseas trip since her diagnosis, taking a solo royal visit to Italy earlier this year, with her husband Prince William declaring he was “incredibly proud” of her.
Earlier this month, she attended a cancer research event wearing a heart-print Rodarte dress and meaningful jewelry with her mother, who was celebrating the end of her cancer treatment.
Months after announcing her diagnosis, Middleton made a grand return to public life in 2024 for Trooping the Color, where she chose a white Jenny Packham dress with black accents.
In 2025, she twinned with Princess Charlotte, with her mother wearing an aquamarine Catherine Walker coat dress with a white collar and her daughter wearing a pale dress with a white sash.
Until now, Middleton has almost exclusively worn Alexander McQueen for annual events, and in 2011, after the Royal Wedding, she debuted in a bridal-worthy white gown created by the wedding dress designer.
