Sharon Stone’s brother Michael “Mike” Stone has died. He was 74 years old.
The actress shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Wednesday, writing, “My eldest brother Mike Stone has passed away. After a long illness.”
“We pray for his peace. Sharon, Lorne, Laird and Quinn π₯°,” Sharon concluded, naming her three sons in the byline.
Mike, who spent most of his life out of the spotlight, was an actor like his sister.
He made his acting debut in the 1990 film “End of the Night” and co-starred with his sister in “The Quick and the Dead” five years later.
Mike never married, but was briefly engaged to socialite Tamara Beckwith from 1994 to 1995.
He and Sharon’s younger brother, Patrick Stone, died in 2023 at the age of 57.
“Yesterday we lost our brother Patrick Joseph Stone to a heart attack,” Sharon announced in an Instagram video at the time. “Like the rest of the family, we appreciate your love and support during this time of immense sadness and appreciate your condolences.”
Patrick’s widow Tasha Stone also shared the news with friends, writing: “I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. Patrick is gone with our sweet River…I don’t know what else to say. He was my world.”
River, Patrick and Tasha’s 11-month-old son, passed away from organ failure in August 2021.
Sharon also has a younger sister, Kelly, who is the youngest of four children.
They grew up in Pennsylvania and shared a close bond, which Sharon wrote about in her 2021 memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice.
Their parents, Dorothy and Joseph Stone, married in 1950 and welcomed four children during their nearly 60 years together.
The couple remained married until Joseph’s death in 2009 at the age of 79.
When Dorothy Stone passed away last year at the age of 91, Sharon announced the news on Instagram, writing, “My hilarious and complicated mother has passed away. A product of the last recession. Let’s never do this again.”
