Variety exclusively reports that Ron Perlman is set to guest star in a new episode of Dropouts’ “Game Changers.”
Perlman will appear in episode 3 of the show’s ongoing season 8, which premieres tonight at 7pm ET. The 10-episode season will be released every two weeks.
The exact details of Perlman’s participation are being kept secret, but he is described as a complete surprise player, along with Rafael Chestan, Lily Do, Katie Marovich, Grant O’Brien, Rekha Shankar and Siobhan Thompson.
Perlman is known for her acclaimed work on television shows such as “Sons of Anarchy,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Hand of God.” He currently stars in the Apple TV version of “Cape Fear,” and other recent TV spots include “Poker Face,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and “Fallout.” In film, Perlman is known for his frequent collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, starring in the first two “Hellboy” films, “Nightmare Alley” and “Pacific Rim.”
Mr. Perlman is repped by Link Entertainment and Nelson Davis Law.
“Game Changer” will be hosted by Dropout CEO Sam Reich. This season’s cast includes Brennan Lee Mulligan, Vic Michaelis, Lou Wilson, and Jacob Wysocki. Reich will also serve as executive producer along with David Kearns. Co-executive producers for this season are Chloe Badner, Elaine Carroll, Ryan Creamer, Sam Geer, Mulligan and Paul Robalino. Jazzy Collins will serve as casting director.
“Game Changers” and another dropout show, “Very Important People,” recently entered Emmy consideration in multiple categories, including Outstanding Game Show for “Game Changers.” Variety’s Clayton Davis had an FYC conversation with Reich at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles in late May.
“Streamers are trying to be everything to everyone,” Reich said. “We’re all about being good, and if you’re paying $7 a month for Dropout, you’re probably passionate about us.”
