Variety exclusively reports that Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson have been cast as series regulars in season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection.
Woodbine and Johnson are new additions to the second season of the Paramount+ premium series. Brian Cox is set to star as Don Flammt, the notorious serial killer also known as the New York Ripper, and Dan Stevens will play the Five Borough Killer. Uma Thurman will also reprise her role of Charlie from season 1.
Johnson will play Fiona Mixon, who is described as a “homicide squad trainer, neo-baby in the police world, and Harrison’s (Jack Alcott) new love interest.” Woodbine will play Captain Mixon, who is described as “the murderous captain and the bulldog of Fiona’s father.”
Johnson has recently appeared on shows such as Paramount+’s “The Mayor of Kingstown,” AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” and NBC’s “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” Her other credits include “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Them: Covenant” and “High Potential.”
Woodbine was previously nominated for an Emmy for his role as Mike Milligan on the FX anthology series “Fargo.” Other television credits include “Underground,” “Halo,” and “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” and film credits include “Rey,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and “Crooklyn.” He will appear in the “Barbershop” TV series currently in production on Amazon Prime Video.

“Dexter: Resurrection” was developed by original series helmer Clyde Phillips. Clyde Phillips also serves as showrunner and executive producer on the new series. In addition to starring, series star Michael C. Hall will also serve as executive producer. The film is executive produced by Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez and Lily Burns, and stars John Goldwyn, Sarah Colleton, Veronica West, Casa Lane, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.
