Prime Video will exclusively release a new documentary series worldwide about the Spanish national team’s controversial and politically tainted victory at this year’s FIFA World Cup. This feat gave Spain their second World Cup victory, defeating Argentina in New Jersey.

Produced by the Real Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Telefonica Broadcast Service (TBS), the documentary series, which is currently untitled, promises exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Spanish team and Ferran Torres’ extra-time goal that secured Spain’s 1-0 victory.

Featuring never-before-seen footage and testimonials from all key players, viewers will have access to unique moments examining the triumphs of a group of 26 players and coaching staff who formed a family over 52 days.

More than just the thrill of victory, the documentary examines the camaraderie and team effort, moments of laughter and tension, and the immediate challenges during a campaign in which many in Spain saw France as favorites. Spain defeated France in the World Cup semi-finals with a spectacular display of controlled soccer.

The show also promises to bring “spectacle, entertainment, and intimacy to understanding the keys to success built on competitive instincts and a relentless drive to improve your team, and will be remembered for what and, above all, how.”

The documentary series, available to Prime Video subscribers, marks the seventh collaboration between RFEF and Prime Video. RFEF is strengthening its position as the home of Spanish national team content, expanding its library of documentaries that provide fans around the world with exclusive access to the most intimate moments of each championship.

Prime Video’s La Roja catalog includes “Luis, El Savio del Excito,” about Spain’s 2008 UEFA EURO victory and its architect and manager Luis Aragonés. La Quinta de la Quinta follows a group of young players as they aim for their fifth Under-21 Euro title, with the title reflecting the depiction of Emilio Butragueño’s generation of players in the 1980s. And the story behind the team’s 2020 UEFA European Football Championship shoot, “La fuerza del grupo”. The same goes for “10 años de la primera estrella.” “La Copa de Todos”. and “Un equipo llamado España.”

In addition to movies, series, documentaries, and movies and shows originally produced by Amazon MGM Studios, sports also make up a major part of Prime Video programming. In addition to acclaimed sports documentaries, the streaming giant offers subscribers exclusive coverage of live sporting events such as UEFA Champions League matches and NBA matches. That includes Amazon’s original “All or Nothing” franchise, which includes “Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues,” “Sven,” and “All or Nothing: Arsenal.”
